Recently I heard on the radio a report about the dearth of live births in Japan and how this country has reached a negative population growth (more deaths than births, the population is shrinking). The commentator somehow used this to illustrate the ability of Japanese women to have an abortion.
I am adamantly opposed to abortion, but I have serious trouble with this person’s conclusions.
Japan is a prosperous nation, highly education, with a rising female educated work force. It is a trend for highly educated couples to have fewer children or elect to not have any at all (Double Income, No Kids, DINKs). I think that there are more causes for the effect of negative population growth to occur than just abortion.
I liked the message against abortion, but I don’t like the very weak argument or suspect conclusions. Truth or fiction? Yes and no.
There is no suspicous statements from God. No deciding if it is the truth or fiction.
1Th 2:13 “ And for this cause we thank God without ceasing, that when you received the Word of hearing, of God, you welcomed it as the Word of God, not as a word of men, but as it is, truly the Word of God, which also effectually works in you who believe.”
When you read the Bible, the facts contained within it are not twisted to mislead you, but are written so that you can learn the truth about yourself, about God, about Christ and about salvation.
2Ti 2:15 “Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. “
When you read the Bible, the previous verse says it all. Just as God doesn’t lie to us
(Tit 1:2 on hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the eternal times, ),we cannot lie to ourselves or to God about what we read. We cannot twist the Word of God to achieve our own goals or agenda.
Think about it.
